Breakfast Service

Prototype, 1995

The very first official project by EOOS, this set of dishes already expressed the perpetual relevance of transformation. The appeal of the Breakfast Service stems from the extreme asynchronicity of its two states of being. Only when the optical homogeneity of the platinum-plated tower – its form, incidentally, inspired by a Buddhist stupa – is broken do the individual

elements of the dish set become apparent: espresso cup, egg cup, dessert plate, cereal bowl and a plate for savory dishes.
Reflecting the design’s two very different cultural identities, Breakfast Services have found their way into Alberto Alessi’s office in Crusinallo, Italy, as well as into the rooms of a Tibetan lama.
