Eclipse

Walter Knoll, 2006

With Eclipse, the magic theme of the solar eclipse was implemented – “an archetype translated into poetic design,” as Gernot described the design process. The Eclipse side tables have a planetary gear, which opens by gently turning the two superimposed circular surfaces. One disc lies in the shadow of

the other; it can emerge from this shadow and go back again. In addition to the playful, poetic element, this mechanism also serves to double the usable table space. Eclipse is available in table heights of 50 or 64 cm, and with glass or wenge wood surfaces in diameters of 35 or 50 cm.
