The no longer existing,

legendary “Building 20” on the

MIT campus is the departure

point for this furniture series.

Built in the Second World

War as a provisional wooden

barrack, it accommodated

numerous Nobel Prize winners

in its 50-year history. The

informal and chaotic work

environment was in constant



Wheels also

takes on a direct, raw, and

essential character and reveres

the spirit of the temporary

with its distinctive wheels. The

tool-like functionality of the

electrified tables manifests

in the visible coiled cables and

the lavish incision providing

access to the power outlets.
