For more than ten years EOOS has been working intensively in the realm of premium shop design for international clients such as Giorgio Armani and Adidas. A pop-up store designed for Caritas represents a radical turning point in this process as it not only questions the framework conditions for the establishment of a shop but also what is sold within it. The assortment includes products from the Caritas action “Schenken mit Sinn” and by magdas DESIGN, delicacies from the Caritas workshop “Am Himmel”, and extraordinary products from the creative workshop reStart.
The furniture are a next step in the development of the “Social Furniture” DIY furniture catalog, which EOOS created in the framework of the Austrian contribution to the 15th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia for a refugee residence in Vienna. All instructions follow the principles of open design and can be built and adapted for non-commercial purposes in accordance with a creative commons license. Here, the social design project was put to practice for the first time outside of the refugee context in Vienna.
