Saddle Chair

Walter Knoll, 2016

The Saddle chair was originally designed for Matteograssi in the year 2003 and produced from 2003 until 2013 under the name “Coco chair”.

The idea is to produce a cover in thick leather, which is bending in natural curves and folds when put on the steel understructure. Every surface is fluid and only one strong seam is defining the outline of the chairs. The visible sheared edges are varnished and burnished by hand.

With refined geometry, comfort and details it is now in production by Walter Knoll under the name “Saddle chair”.
