tension/concentration
As the starting point of the development for the
chair series "FILO", EOOS invited a Japanese
archer to Vienna. He practiced and showed
"Kyudo", the art of archery, and explained the
therefore essential concentration technique.
The arch of the shooter was translated in the
armrest of the chair. FILO offers a permanent
flexibility without mechanics. The chair
becomes a tool of concentration for agile
humans through the permanent micromovement.
Aluminium die casting, plastic injection
moulding and the assembling of the seat and
backrest by an hydraulic press eliminated the
classical handwork at the industrial production
process.
