Cuoio

Walter Knoll, 2010

The Cuoio Chair impresses with its reduced simplicity, which is the direct result of its material logic. Thick Cuoio leather, which gives the chair its name, and black powdered steel form the skin and frame. The cutouts in the seat and back surfaces are not only decorative, but have a form-giving function analogous to tailored

clothes. It is primarily these slots that lend the chair its characteristic shape. Cuoio is simultaneously natural and modern. Moreover, by reducing the materials used, it is easily recyclable and therefore particularly sustainable. The Cuoio Chair is available with or without arms, entirely in black or in three different shades of brown.
