At our first meeting, Peter Hussl brought along a pub chair that his father had designed and produced 40 years ago. The question was: how can we think ahead from here? In any case, we wanted to avoid any Alpine kitsch and not even dare an attempt at modernizing Alpine furniture. Our choice for a board instead of a round chair leg was the solution. This freed us from the Alpine typology without having to abandon the constructive logic of a chair without a frame. The idea was later expanded into a collection that includes stools, benches and tables.

The legs are inserted through the seat from below and then wedged from above. Plywood disks milled halfway into the seat hold them in position. The top of the chair leg and the two wedges remain visible on the seat top.
