The project began with the request for a central column table—a rather thankless task for a designer. While watching kites and observing their inherent system of antigravity, the solution came to us: When flying a kite, you hold a rod in your hand as a sort of anchor, and the lines are tensioned by the pulling force of the kite as it flies in the wind. By analogy, we eliminated the central column and replaced it with a wire structure that we attached to a wooden cross lying on the ground. We sought to create a very stable structure using minimal materials, one that is easy to disassemble and transport and offering the greatest possible visual transparency.
