The idea for this design came from a stool with castors pointing inward, which could be turned in a full circle without changing its position. We mounted two such swivel stools under a padded bar and attained a transformable spatial unit: together, the upholstered seats form a sofa that can be opened and closed and rotated independently. The bar functions as a backrest and side table in one.
Designed for informal meeting situations, the sofa serves as a communication island in the middle of a room. People can sit next to each other, facing each other, diagonally or back to back.
